Haiku: Recipe

I was at a farmers' market last night, hanging out while the daughter was at her theatre class and the boys in my life -- all three of them -- were at a Def Leppard/Foreigner/Styx concert. At the farmers' market, an over-the-top street actor/musician on roller skates sang along, a la karaoke style, while his bubble machine spewed bubbles. I looked around and saw a recipe for laughter.

Bubbles fly about,
entertainer skates along,
passers-by stay close

Kids chasing bubbles,
parents releasing tight reins,
teens wildly goofing.

Tip jar slowly fills.
Farmers’ market visitors
reward skating fool.

No offense, but I think I would have rather been at the concert than the farmers' market....

sounds like a fun street scene. I like Farmer's Markets.

Haiku is an art form very new to me - but by your exposing me to it more and more, I'm slowly grasping it - and liking it too. Don't stop.

Oh that's a good haiku, I must say! :D

A Def Leppard/Foreigner/Styx concert? I wonder how the kids felt about that, in a generation where Fall Out Boy reigns supreme. ;D

Yeah, pour some sugar on me. The condiment, that is. I hope they had a great time! Wow, the Styx!

Domo arigato! :D

These are great fun. It sounded like a good time. How late in the season do the markets usually go?

You presented such a action-filled and fun scene. I didn't know those bands still toured! Takes me back to my teen days.

The 5-year-old is a huge Def Leppard fan, and he's now into "Come Sail Away" by Styx. He slept through Foreigner!

Bubba's Sis, none taken. But, really, does anyone need to see 60-year-old rockers who aren't Bruce Springsteen?

Quietpaths, around here, the markets held in towns around here go through October. The main county one is yearround, Sundays and Thursdays. "Here" being the San Francisco Bay Area.

This was a fun recipe. Our farmer's market is a bit less entertaining.

I love bubbles as well.

That was a fun night I must say and the way you describe it in your Haiku, somehow makes me feel like I was there.
