10 Things That Worry Me

I have so many fears that I amaze myself with my ability to shuffle them to the back of my head when I try to sleep at night. Some of the biggies:

1. My children will die before me.

2. My children will die a horrible death before me.

3. I will die before my children are adults.

4. I will never get to meet my grandchildren.

5. My children will give me grandchildren before an ideal age.

6. My husband and I will divorce, putting my children through hell.

7. Terrorists will harm people I know and love and hold dear in my heart.

8. Terrorists will continue to harm people I don’t know.

9. I will die a horrible death.

10. Global warming.

Oh, my, but isn’t that a frickin’ ray of sunshine and hope for all the people to read. Sorry. Now, I’m going to go and cry. You can check out others’ fears at
Ten on Tuesday.

For the love of God.

Is it halloween yet?! :D

(Those are legitimate fears, of course. I just got a big scare.)

I've had all of those fears at various intervals of my life. One of 'em - the divorce thing - happened too. But after I was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago this past March, I put things into perspective and somehow was able to push many of those things out of my mind, or way to the rear anyway. But then too, by that time, I already had one grandchild, a second on the way then, my kids were grown then too and I was 59 years old. It does take a while to get those things to stop surfacing is what I learned over the years. What will be, will be - you can only prepare so much and then you just have to let it go but never let a day go by that you don't hug, kiss your kids, spouse and let everyone around you know how you really do feel about them. That way, there's at least a big lessening of the guilt potential.

Oh dear!!! I love what Jeni said... "What will be will be" We can expend our energy consumed with fear, or we can take life one day at a time and use that energy on the ones we love!

(Then I started thinking about what ten things I worry about, hmmm, scary! LOL)

Yep, those are biggies. All things I worry about as well.

A few people I know have suffered great losses lately, and unfortunately, this has helped me also to put things into perspective.

On the positive side, the rest of your list makes global warming seem not so bad.
