BRUCE: Haiku Friday

BRUCE Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen concert.
Scamming our way to the front,
'cause we're born to run.

Sold out in Oakland,
we scored tickets to both shows.
My bad back be damned.

Ears are still ringing.
I can barely hear the kids.
One more thing to like.

Looking around me,
I'm shocked at the fans' faces.
How'd they get so old?

[As a die-hard BRUCE fan, I'm in heaven today because he played and played and played last night. And I get to go again tonight. Yeah, I'm old, but for a couple of days, I don't care. Because it's BRUCE!]

HOW. farking. awesome.

His song 'The Rising' is one of my favorites. And of course I love that Stevey was in the Sopranos. :)

Enjoy revisiting your youth!

My youth was much to metalish to revisit. I don't think I could stomach racing to the front of a Motley Crue concert these days!

i heard about this concert and knew you HAD to be going. i guess i didn't figure that you'd be going twice! hehe. who'd you go with? and if it's your husband... does he object when you scream out, *bruce, i wanna have your baby!*?

Very cool! Glad you had fun! Enjoy tonight.

Oooh! I'm a bit jealous. The fans aren't old. They are our age. We're just 80s kids 20 years later.

To be in the same arena as a legend is quite the feeling. I think it's cool that every fan looked slightly aged. It proves that some rockers deserve to be followed for all time!

Hi Patois! Rock on Bruce!!!! What a treat to come to your blog and see Bruce's photo and your awesome haiku about him!! I cracked up with the one about your ears ringing so you can barely hear the kids -- and your liking that.

Unfortunately my ears won't be doing any ringing this weekend as our concert in Maine was canceled due to some illness or injury that has befallen the band's drummer.

Hope you enjoy your concert tonight as much as you enjoyed last night's - rock on and do some squealing for me, too!

I always feel like the oldest one at the concerts I go to. Have a great time!

Lucky you! I know I don't have to wish you a great time.

Since I'm kinda repressed, allow me to say the bad word: Shut up! (And I said that in "The Princess Diaries" way, too), worksformom? ;D

How can you even haiku? I would be completely lost in dreamy thoughts.

I mentioned to Eldest the other night that I had a fairly wide open day Friday. Writer that he is, he wondered if I would perhaps like a wri...
