No Good Deed Unpunished: Haiku Friday

Last Friday’s field trip
can't be exorcised away.
Memories abound.

Take torrential rains,
mix in car sick little girl.
Ah, it is the smell.

My good deed for naught.
Mother of strange boy complains.
Next time, she can drive.

Last week’s
entry for Haiku Friday was in anticipation of the field trip I was going on with the fifth graders. It was a horrible event, which I talked about the next day. It got worse, though, when the mother of one of the kids – the boy who had to sit in the spot the carsick child had been sitting in – called the teacher to complain. I knew I should have left that boy on the side of the road. [Please, do save your “heartless bitch” comments for another time, ‘k?]

Check out the groovy ku at A Mommy Story.

Sorry for the bad time. What were you supposed to do? Tie him to the roof?

Complain about what? Would she have liked you to strap her little boy to the roof so he could have some fresh air? I'm calling you a heartless bitch as a COMPLIMENT, ok?

oh, that's too bad! field trips should be fun for everyone!

what exactly were you supposed to do with the little boy? i mean, does your car/van have a secret hidden seat that automagically pops out of the front bumper when space is needed???? seriously!

That really stinks (pun intended! hee). Sorry it didn't go well and your good intentions were not appreciated. Seriously - she can drive next time! Or keep her son at home. Yeesh.

Okay...this has NOTHING to do with your post, but I just had to share it.

Today, I noticed that your blog title is Whee! All the Way Home.

Until today, I thought it was Wheel All the Way Home and I didn't really get it, but figured...well...Just Eat Your Cupcake is kind of like that too...hard to explain....

:)

There is always a complainer in every situation. *sigh*

Hope you're OK, though.
