10 New Year's Resolutions

Thanks to Yano for another Ten on Tuesday. This week, New Year's resolutions.

1. Teach my two older children how to properly make beds.

2. Stop making my two older children's beds.

3. Assign easy enough chores for all three kids to do.

4. Stop doing said chores myself.

5. Read at least two books a month, even if -- gasp! -- that means I stop playing with the kids blogging so much.

6. Say to my husband "I love you" as often as I say it to the kids.

7. Write a long e-mail letter to any number of farflung friends once a week.

8. Start a family "chain" letter, where each sibling and my mother tells of all that's going on, with each one writing his or her portion each month.

9. See Bruce Springsteen in concert at least twice more this year. Preferably on April 4 and April 5.

10. Write that book. Period. End of story.

[It's a good Jump One, Jump Twosday this week. Make sure you play along at home.]

Like #5! Yikes! I've been here reading blogs for almost 2 hours! Hope those beds are making themselves!

I wish you the best in your resolutions. Number 8 sounds like a terrific idea that I might want to try. :D

I relate to #5. My book-reading has dropped since I got into the blog thing, and I need to work on that.

#8 sounds like a cool idea for a large family.

I bet you'll accomplish #9! :-) I need to find out if/when he's coming back to SoCal, so I can miss another show...

ahh let me know how the bed making lessons go! and if you are successful, make a vlog to help the rest of us teach our youngens! hah.

i like the chain letter idea ... i will blatantly plagiarize your idea. ;)

"make the bed"... OK, here's a dad wondering how on earth it would ever be possible to teach boys to properly make a bed.

GET TO WORK ON #10! There, I feel I've done my part to help with the motivation.

Though I marvel with awe at the depth of the irony in the way you've worded #10. Well done. It's like a mini haiku for a micro novel. Or something.

Studies have shown that people are healthier, not to mention happier, if they don't make their beds. Something about bed bugs or giving the night sweats a chance to dry out? I don't know. But after YEARS of my mother telling me to make my effing bed when I lived with her, she finally told me this, LOL.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Ok, I love your list. I need to work on most of those myself, especially #s 3, 4, & 7.

I love your idea of #8. I hope that one sticks for ya'll. And I can't wait for you to write that book. I'm ready to read it.

The last New Year's resolution that I made was the only one that I've ever been able to keep and that was to not make any more New Year's resolutions!

I know, I know - I'm a wimp!

I should take that one for myself.

An excellent list! If you accomplish #2 and #4, you'll have time for #5! Good luck!

I need to read more, myself. That one's on my list, too.
