Jump One, Jump Twosday #24: Hugh's the Boss?

Two choices. Pick one to jump. Yeah, you know what "jump" means. Ignore your sexual orientation. Ignore their sexual orientation. Ignore if they're too old or too dead for you.

Jump 1 is the ever-boyish imp Hugh Grant of movie fame. I could probably cite many of his movies with little difficulty as they include some of my favorite. (I am an Anglophile, after all.) There's "Four Weddings and a Funeral." There's "Notting Hill." There's "Love, Actually." There's "Bridget Jones' Diary." For many years, he was with the ever-lovely Elizabeth Hurley. And for a few minutes, he was with Miss Divine Brown. (Remember, in the backseat of a car?) He's now with some other equally lovely young thing.

Jump 2 is another Hugh, this one Hugh Laurie. Most of us know him as the title character on Fox's "House." Sounds remarkably American to our ears, doesn't he? And, yet, he's a British comedian, quite famous in his country of birth. He and comedic partner Stephen Fry were known as, wait for it, Fry and Laurie. (A bit anti-climatic, eh?) He's married with children.

Well? Is it Jump 1?
Jump One: Hugh Grant
Or Jump 2?
Jump Two: Hugh Laurie
If you had asked me, oh, four years ago, I'd have said Grant hands down. Of course, I also would have said, "Who the hell is Hugh Laurie?" But, oh my, Mr. Laurie is my clear winner. My latest crush, the man is. He's handsome in my book. And his acting? Superb. The fact that his personal life is not in shambles only adds to his plus column.

How about you? Who are you going to jump?

Ooooh a tough one.

I'd slam dunk Grant if it weren't for that prostitution thingy he was involved in.

But since I have never seen the crabby other Hugh in action I'll go with the Hugh #1.

I didn't have to even think about this one - absolutely Hugh Grant. I adore him!

Mmmmm...Hugh Laurie. But only if he stays in character as House the whole time. ;)

Thank you so much for a pleasant choice this week! There's no ick factor at all :-).

Easy one for me, though - Hugh Grant. It's been Hugh Grant for years. Granted, if I watched House it might be a tougher call...

No doubt about it, Hugh Grant. He & my husband have similar mannerisms. Both of them crack me up & make my heart sing.

I've never seen House. I hear I'm missing a great show.

Finally! Two I wouldn't mind jumping at all! Woohoo!

I'll take Hugh Laurie simply because a) I love a man with a British accent and b) I love his character on "House" even without the British accent! Ah, a man who knows how to use sarcasm!! Love it!

I have to go for Hugh Laurie. No questions. He is so hot and normal. Not to mention, I love House. Great one this week, Patty!

Hugh Laurie without a shadow of a doubt! Interesting that you picked two English men. Hugh Laurie is amazing in House and HILARIOUS in Blackadder (britcom). Check out this youtube clip:

Obviously, he's much more attractive in House!

Hugh Grant. Love him. Loooove him. Can overlook that whole prostitute thing. Hugh Laurie--also a hottie. Wouldn't kick him out. You could add in Hugh Jackman and I'd say yes to all three.

Hugh Grant for sure! He makes my sole remaining ovary do flick flacks ;-)

I had never heard of Hugh Laurie until ten seconds ago... but I'll take him over anyone who's been in Divine Brown's mouth.

Hugh Jackman not an option, eh? Sigh. :)

First, I have to say I've missed answering Jump One Jump Two Tuesday, but life has been throwing me curve balls lately, and well...for some reason I'm behind on everything. Anyway, I 'll have to disagree with you on this one. I'm going to be a predictable bore and say Hugh Grant. I've had a crush on him for years, and I'm afraid it's going to stick. :))

I am WAY behind in blog reading and have been playing catchup without any commenting. But I cannot miss the chance to put in a belated vote for Hugh Laurie, who would be on my laminated list even if he never appeared in a Jump One, Jump Twosday. The man, quite simply, is yummy.

(He also lives in my neighborhood, I'm told. And yet I have NEVER seen him. There's a cruel irony in this...)

If not for Divine Brown, I'd consider jumping Grant. Well, that and his high maintenance hair style are both turnoffs. So it's Laurie for me. Yeah, he's maniac depressive BUT he's monogamous and he's not been near Liz Hurley's twat.

Now, I'm going to go suck up to Rebecca who obviously lives in a v. v. nice neighbourhood.
