A Post About Nothing

Wasn't that the premise of Seinfeld: a show about nothing? Or was that the premise of Friends? Or maybe it was the premise of Tom Tancredo.

Watching the scroll at the bottom of the local morning news show this morning, I saw the blurb "Tancredo to end presidential bid." First I had to wonder, "Who the hell is Tancredo?" Then I had to admit that, given I'd never heard of him, it was probably a good thing he was ending his bid. I had to rely on my trusty Google to even find out the man's first name. If you're that interested, here's the AP story.

It's been crazy around these here parts of late. We've had illnesses sweep through, with yours truly getting hit last. And, might I add, hardest. I'm on too many drugs right now to properly function, yet functioning is what I am doing. There's the kids' school newspaper to get out. There's the cutting of strips of construction paper to enable fifth graders to "weave" ornaments. There's the cutting of circles to enable first graders to crease together ornaments. There's two days of doing centers in the youngest's class. There are party supplies to be bought. There are teacher gift cards to be purchased. There's a house to clean. There's another load of laundry to wash 'cause the fastidious eldest left his jacket out after P.E. and others might have -- gasp! -- touched it.

ENOUGH! I'm boring myself reading this. I'm busy. You're busy. It's the season to be busy. Let's just take a moment, bow our heads, and say a silent farewell to Joe Bob Tom Tancredo.

No one will miss ol' Tom Whassizname. He was a one-issue guy, doomed from the get-go.

I hope you feel better soon. That's an awful lot to do.

Feel better soon! Sucks to be sick this time of year with so much to be done.

Tom who?

Well.. good luck with all of your chores..erm goals before Christmas and I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Nothing like an illness to damper the festivities of the season.. like shopping and road raging. (not that you do. :))

Hope you feel better soon. We heard that on the news too and felt like bad citizens for not even knowing he was in the running. OH well.

Since it now appears that Tancredo (whoever he is/was) now has some extra time on his hands, maybe he can take over the construction paper cutting for you.

Breathe baby, breathe!

I liked M.O.M.'s suggestion to get Tancredo to help you out! He probably wasn't doing anything before he tried the presidential run path either so he may be very out-of-practice on the doing things of consequence stuff.
