To all of you caring souls out there who have sent good wishes, good vibes and good prayers for Pete, I just wanted to let you know that he is going quite well. He finally started turning the corner from some excruciating pain about Friday or so. He has now graduated to sleeping in our bed for the entire night, two nights in a row! [CONFETTI DROPPING FROM CEILING]
He can do most everything on his own, you nosy people, although some of the things he does on his own can be very funny to watch. For example, trying to put his socks on in the morning. [CANNED LAUGHTER] Better yet, trying to get those sneakers on. [CANNED GUFFAWS]
He still trusts me to be giving him his correct medication, but as the hydrocodone haze clears, I suspect he'll be taking that over soon enough. He's been cleared to drive, and he has now done so on several occasions. [Fear not, he's not doped up so much during the day, and he's only driving within a three-mile radius of home. Wait. Isn't that statistically where the most car accidents take place?]
He's been cleared to start work again on March 31, which means the ladies poker games and parties I host daily can start up again then. I've missed the boozing in the afternoons so much. I'm afraid I'll get alcohol poisoning when I start up again.
Seriously, thanks to everyone for the concern. Our family unit appreciates it.
