Wordy Wednesday #13: Me, Kids and Snow

This is the view from our room at the Boomtown Hotel [and Casino!] in January. Pete and I took the kids up there for the weekend to do some sledding and to let the kids run around crazy-like in the game room [and to let me gamble]. You might recall that weekend as the one where the dogsitter ended up having a party that enabled some SOBs to steal a bunch of money and stuff from us.

I don't want us to have that memory whenever we think of sledding and Tahoe and fun. Guess what I got? A coupon for three free nights at the hotel this month. And guess whose school is out next week for Spring Break, weeks after most of the other schools let out? That's right, my kids have Spring Break next week. So me and the kids are heading up to the snow. We're crossing our fingers that Aunt Ginny comes with us. [You are reading this, aren't you, Virginia?]

Suppose it's just me and the kids. They are 11, 9.5 and 6 in 13 days. How bad a mother would I be if I left them in the room for an hour or so to enable me to feed my gambling habit? Yeah, I know, I know. Oh well, I probably wouldn't win anyway.
