Delusional hope
this year will be a success.
Failure yet again.
Woe is me when it comes to trying to propel anything new to come to life in the back 40 or the hilly eyesore out front. Thankfully, I am content to let nature have its way all around me. [I don't know if the neighbors are.]
Worse, I could still be stuck feigning surprise and amazement at the annual preschool and kindergarten Mother's Day gift.
Plastic container
filled with dirt and child's love:
Wonder of bean sprouts.

Seeds! I am a hopeless failure with seeds. I dread the plantings that come my way only because I know I will likely not know best how to keep them going!
Some great musings there. Enjoyed them.
I'm not much good with planting either; not a total "black thumb" but close. Enjoyed these very much!
Sweet words. Love the children's one.
Well done! It's a wonder my kids are still alive because I can't keep anything living. I can even kill a cactus.
So loved this point of view. I too am a gardener - in my head only. LOL
I love planting, I wish it were mutual. Beautiful P, your words always are.
..seeds hold a promise- a life to be lived-love-hope-beauty-many thanks..
I am laughing not at you, but because as an ex church school teacher, I am responsible for lots of those little pots of flowers going home to mom and dad!
Perfectly done! Nature does a grand job...
Love the 'kus! I'm no good at growing things, either. Especially not from seeds. I go to the nursery and buy them already grown - less work for me! And then I kill them anyway. At least they had a good early life my way!
I put a different twist on the prompt this week...
The first poem reminded me of my cousins who were farmers on the Montana prairie-- always optimistic but also realistic. What a difficult tightrope.
Oh, hee- the first one I can totally relate to- I don't even try anymore!
Well done!
I enjoyed both your haiku-I related to the first one because I haven't had a green thumb since kindergarten. My favorite was the
second on for its reflection of childlike optimism.
Thank you for sharing these.
