Grind Away

What could be more depressing than a Monday morning after a fairly decent ski week break from school?

How about a Monday morning after ski week with a weather forecast that says rain, showers, rain, showers, rain, rain, rain for the next seven days?

How about a Monday morning after ski week with that kind of weather forecast just two days before Lent begins, which means I'm going to go crazy without chocolate or candy of any kind for weeks on end?

How about a Monday morning after ski week with that kind of weather forecast and that kind of upcoming self-deprivation with the first kick-ass cold sore in years and years?

How about...I just go back to bed and shake this doom? Oh, right, I can't because it's Monday.

Ugh! No chocolate? Not even cocoa? What about gum? I loves me some gum. I'll do my best to supplement the lack of carbs with an overabundance of comments. Will that help? They're sugar-free!

It's got to be Tuesday somewhere, or maybe even Sunday still? Maybe the weatherman is wrong?

And now it's Tuesday. I hope it's a better day. Of course, for me, I'm whining that it's not Saturday. You mean the week isn't even ½ over yet? When will the madness end?

OH Geesh. At first, I thought, how great is that! Rain didn't ruin her ski trip... and then... you lost me... it was a pretty bad Monday.

Dude, it sounds like you live in Seattle. It is all rain and gloom here. I wish I could go back to bed most days.

We had rain here in the Rocky Mountains, too. It was so WRONG. Damn global warming. I don't even yet have ashes on my forehead and am already craving a piece of chocolate. Here's to 40 long days! Hopefully they will be without rain.
