Pumice stones to scrub
away unshod blackened spots.
Summer has arrived.
Frequent watering of
recently planted seeds.
Summer spurs their growth.
Skeeter eaters chase
buzzing, annoying skeeters.
This is our summer.
Whirring fans no match
for oppressive heat in house.
Summer sweating starts.

I know I'll be complaining about this soon enough. Right now I just want the Spring rain to end...so far so good this week!
Go stick your head in the freezer and cool off. ;)
Coming from Florida, I feel your pain. It's not that hot here yet...but it will be.
I'm not a big summer person. I'm more fall/spring. So, I'm not looking forward to the hot, sweltering days of July and August. I'm enjoying these 65 days/45 nights of spring, thankyouverymuch! :)
Neat haiku -
The second 70 degree day is here - back to the 40's and below freezing nights tomorrow. Weather. Yup.
summer...ahhh! we need a jump-start on spring here ;-)
Love these. Hope the heat doesn't aggravate your healing process. Will you have a cast on your arm after the surgery?
I always long for summer--til it gets here. Up here in Maine, we are getting a snow and rain mix. I am still wearing flannel, and the heat is running.
Love your poem, and I do know what the word is!
Ah, the weather. An endless source of fascination for all of us!
I enjoyed these.
Stay cool.
Summer. We used to sit on fire hydrants. You capture it well.
Thank you
Wish it were summer here...it was 24 this morning. Soon come, though.
Thanks for your, as always, lovely images--
