Romance: Haiku

Someone's 10th wedding anniversary is coming up very soon. [Stop doing the math, folks. Yes, two of our kids were here before the wedding license. It's okay. We've explained that, in fact, you don't have to be married to have children. You just have to graduate from college.]

For Pete. And One Single Impression this week.

Words mattered little
from that very first moment.

Hi Patois, Happy Aniversary, you and Pete!
Did your mama say you had to graduate from college before having kids? If so, I flunked her test but the kids came anyway, four of them back then. The latest came after I graduated from college sixteen years later. :-)

I understand the first two lines of your poem. They tell it like it is.
The last one? It must be cryptic for Pete!

A college degree huh? Now someone should have told me that before I had so many children --- this seem to be a very safe form of birth control --- for those of us who couldn't afford college. LOL!

I am with Jim, the first two lines .. well they hit the nail on the head, the last one, even though I looked up the word, I was still lost.
