That's Not My Name

I've driven Daughter insane since her spring dance recital. One of the songs the older girls danced to was The Ting Ting's That's Not My Name. It has seared itself on my brain. Damn kids should be so ever-loving-happy that I don't have speakers on my computer.

'Cause that song?

That song would be played on an endless loop.

'Cause I'm a bitch like that. And OCD. Totally.

* * * *

Eldest's "core" teacher in 7th grade has apparently been sending out emails to parents, telling them what the kids are working on in English and History. A fellow parent noticed a typo in my email address and forwarded me the teacher's latest missive.

Being me, I had to send the teacher this:

The email address you have for me is incorrect. Thanks to a fellow parent for noticing it.

The typo does bring to mind a very "funny" moment from my childhood. I'll annoy you with the anecdote. My father was promoted early to Lt. Col., having only been a major all of 18 months, and he was over-the-top thrilled. We lived on Hickam AFB in Hawaii. Each home in the officers' quarters had a nameplate next to the mailbox. The first one put up upon his promotion? "Lt. Col. N.W. Bogd." The man was livid, although we all learned to laugh about the incident as the years passed.

The correct email is patriciaboyd@fakename.com.

For the first time in my life as a parent, I feel out of the loop. I have never heard that song.

I hope the teacher got a chuckle out of your email and fixes it promptly. I've been working for 2 months on getting BOTH of my kids' schools to fix our contact number. They both called my brother's phone and then my mom's. I'm hoping 3rd times the charm. Sigh. I wish I had a funny anecdote to share with them. Maybe I'd have more luck.

My son's teachers would probably say, "Well, that's how it's written down." I've found that very few of them have a sense of humor and are even less willing to admit an error...

LOVE the AF story. Being retired Navy, I can relate. For 24 years my last name(s) were destroyed--even on awards!

Oh my goodness, my daughter LOVES that song. I've had it running through my brain too coupled with "Oh Micky you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind HEY MICKY!"

Because it sounds just like that one to me.

I will pray for you. :)

OK, I have never heard of that song and have never heard of the Ting Tings. Apparently it is quiet here under my rock.
