Daughter recently wrote a poem for the PTA Reflections competition. [No, wait, don't go getting all teary-eyed about it. She was required to enter something in the literature category by her English teacher.]
The theme this year is "Beauty is..." [Am I the only one who hates ellipses with a passion? Is it because a former colleague told me -- again and again -- that she saw it as a sign of a weak copywriter?] Daughter asked each of her English-speaking immediate family members to tell her what they thought beauty was. [The dog and cat and fish would have given such obvious answers.]
Youngest mentioned something about soccer. Eldest talked about walking victoriously uphill in a rain storm. Pete went with a thunderstorm. Daughter talked of a dance recital. And I mentioned children's laughter and the wrinkled bottom of the feet of a newborn baby.
She closed her poem with a line about beauty being in the eye of the beholder. Indeed.
Did you know Angie at Seven Clown Circus does a "Wordful Wednesday" each week? I found about about it recently. I think I'll check those out today.

I am impressed about her participating in Reflections. I have tried to get my daughter to participate every year, but it required too much nagging to follow through. Does that make me a bad parent?
That is a beautiful site.
I love that everyone contributed to it and the ending was wonderful.
However, I adore ellipses. lol
I LOVE baby feet! The tinier and wrinkly, the better!
Kudos to her for participating in Reflections......and that baby is beautiful!
OH, oh, oh, the wrinkled baby's foot. YESSSSSSSSSSSSs.
I also am transported by a clear eye with the hint of a smile in it.
Oh, yes, the wrinkled foot of a newborn! Precious.
