Wordy Wednesday #86: We Put the "Public" in Art

A mostly great time was had by mostly all skating at the ice rink on the Embarcadero yesterday. One child who shall remain nameless -- cough, Youngest , cough -- had a rough go of it because didn't I know it's too slippery and how come there aren't more people here and if there were more people they would scratch it up so it wouldn't be so slippy and why didn't I bring any food and why didn't I bring any junk food and my hands are cold?

In the photos, though, he looks only happy so I will continue to go through life remembering only a good time at the rink and I will never read this to learn the truth.

He brought along a buddy. [Yeah, I know, couldn't he be nice for that reason alone?] And they played after the skating and eating was done.

This stainless steel piece of art was created by one Jean Dubuffet in 1978. He dubbed it La Chiffoniere. Totally cool, eh?

Far more interesting up close and personal, wouldn't you know?

Why do youngest boys insist on carrying on so? I guess they know, at least in my case, that their mamas have memory problems. The pictures do make it seem like a grand time was had by all. Sometimes.

What our kids must endure just for a little afternoon of fun. Such a trooper!
