I heard on the radio about a woman down in Southern California who was looking for a husband in order to secure health insurance coverage. My first thought was, "Damn, why did Pete and I ever marry?" My second thought was, "Why the hell not?"
She has a chronic illness, not unlike lupus, and her COBRA runs out in a year. Of course, no health insurance company will provide her coverage 'cause they're all scumbags like that.
"Sure, we'll insure your healthy children. But only until they reach the age where they will actually need coverage."
"Sorry, we can't insure you because, you know, 40-somethings are usually worn hard and put away wet."
"Oh, you actually need insurance? Bwahahahaha."
So, here's hoping Terri Carlson finds her man. And here's hoping she's a huge financial drain on whatever health insurance company her future husband has. And, while I'm blue-skying, here's hoping each and every health insurance company executive in the U.S. comes down with C4 Complement Deficiency.
