Sold! To the Whore

I always heard it told as Winston Churchill and the socialite he found himself seated next to at some random hoity-toity function after his stint as prime minister and one of the SAVOIRS OF MANKIND.

Winston Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Society Grande Dame: I, um, well, I suppose I would.
WC: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
SGD: Why, I never! What kind of a woman do you take me for?
WC: We've already established that. Now we're just negotiating price.

I saw this when I logged onto my blog last night.

Are you f$#kin' kidding me? Anthem Blue Cross, the latest poster child in a long line of f$%ked-up poster children for wanton disregard for health and ethics and doing the right thing, in an ad. Here?

Thus endeth my experiment with Google advertising. Farewell the $7.42 I've earned over the past three years.

In other news, I did go to the doctor. He sent me for lab work. Ka-ching, Blue Shield Motherf$%kers of California. And he sent me for an EKG. Ka-ching, Blue Shield Motherf$%kers of California. I'm going out with a bang.

No results yet. The doctor suspects I've been on the pseudoephedrine too long. Time to try a neti pot, he suggested. Next thing you know, he'll be suggesting a diva cup. [Nod to Mommy Melee.]

I have a neti pot-----it is, by far, one of the strangest things I've ever put into my body. Breathe in and out hard and quick while you do it to keep water from dripping down the back of your throat.

I have yet to try the neti pot but have friends who swear by it. Hope you, and your wallet, feel better ...

Oh the wicked irony of Google ads... BC bastages.

I haven't used a neti pot, but I have used sterile saline, you can find it in the cold meds at the pharmacy. Works great.

I Could Use Less Excitement, Too

"So glad you were all able to be here. A little less excitement next time. Love all of you." I received that text from my Mom as...
