What is Wrong With This Sentence?

I will check email sporatically during this period.


That's the out-of-office reply of someone. So what is wrong with this sentence?


First, "sporadically" is misspelled.


Second, and most importantly, it is from the co-director of curriculum and instruction for our illustrious school district. Bravo! Or should I say, "Brevo!"?
